A Warm Southern Welcome in the Heart of Singapore

Located at Marina Bay Sands, The Bird Southern Table and Bar brings the charm and soul of the American South to Singapore’s glittering skyline. Spanning 6,707 square feet, the interior design blends rustic heritage with refined hospitality, offering an atmosphere that feels both down-to-earth and elevated. As the local interior architect, the design team was tasked with translating a distinct Southern sensibility into a globally iconic context — one that respects the brand’s roots while embracing its contemporary urban setting.

A rich mix of reclaimed wood, ironwork, vintage-inspired fixtures, and soft lighting comes together to create an environment that is warm, welcoming, and full of texture. From hearty brunches to intimate dinners, the space evokes a familiar sense of home, layered with storytelling and Southern charm.

Southern Hospitality in Every Detail

This striking communal dining space captures the heart of The Bird’s design ethos — generous, grounded, and glowing with warmth. A long slab of polished wood stretches the length of the room, anchoring the space as both a visual and social centerpiece. The craftsmanship of the table, paired with rustic leather chairs and vintage mason jars filled with house-pickled vegetables, evokes an elevated farmhouse sensibility that is both authentic and contemporary.

Above, a dramatic chandelier of amber-hued glass bottles softly illuminates the space, casting a golden glow that enhances the intimacy and warmth of the setting. Set against exposed brick walls, timber ceilings, and matte black iron accents, the lighting composition feels theatrical yet inviting — as if every meal is meant to be a celebration. It’s a setting that encourages conversation, connection, and the comfort of Southern-style dining, brought to life through thoughtful and tactile interior storytelling.

The rhythm of materials—warm timber, iron, leather, and soft brick—extends beyond aesthetics into emotional resonance. Each element is chosen not only for its texture and tone, but for the way it speaks to memory and familiarity. The soft flicker of candlelight, the gleam of polished cutlery, and the tactile grain of the communal table collectively build a space that feels both crafted and lived-in. This is not just a restaurant interior; it is a spatial narrative of heritage and hospitality.

Subtle zoning defines each dining moment—whether nestled into a booth, perched at the bar, or gathered at the long table—without disrupting the open, communal energy of the space. Acoustic warmth, layered lighting, and furniture placement guide guests effortlessly through the room, balancing intimacy with vibrancy. The result is an immersive interior that transcends the transactional, inviting diners to linger, savor, and return.

Southern Warmth, Gathered in Light

At The Bird Southern Table and Bar, every detail of the interior is a celebration of warmth, gathering, and authenticity. The glow of repurposed glass pendant lights, the inviting grain of the communal table, and the rich textures of brick and timber converge to craft a setting that feels deeply rooted yet elevated. More than just a dining venue, this is a space that invites stories to be shared and memories to be made—where the timeless charm of Southern hospitality is expressed through space, light, and materiality.
